Jennie Abell

I am a self taught artist who has been drawing and painting all my life. My work at present is based around the Scottish landscape, mainly in acrylic or oil paint.

I was brought up in rural North Norfolk. Although not a landscape full of dramatic scenery like the Scottish Highlands it was none the less a wild and inspirational place to grow up. I spent a great deal of my childhood under the huge dramatic skies in the outdoor places that were all part of a child’s back garden. It was during this time that I developed a love of wild places and the natural world. The light and colours of Norfolk were an invaluable teacher as I began to develop my artistic style.
