Janet McCrorie

Janet McCrorie is a Scottish artists specialising in painting Scottish dancers.
Janet was an arts and crafts teacher for many years before deciding to focus on developing her own work. Having spent a number of years studying with the Open College of the Arts and at Leith School of Art, she is now a full time artists.
Scottish dancers is the theme and Janet uses mixed media and vibrant colour to capture the unique look of the tartan and the exhuberant movemente of the dancing. Her aim is to bring images of Scottish dancing to life, as something we all enjoy and to invoke a sense of pride and nostalgia while putting a modern twist on the spectacle of these ancient traditional dances.
Her paintings can be seen in many galleries and have been sold internationally. Her paintings have been used by St. Columba’s hospice for cards and a calendar and by the Royal Scottish Country Dancing Society to illustrate their annual review.
Originally from Lanarkshire Janet now lives in East Lothian and works in a studio in her home
