DK MacLeod

Becoming a self-taught artist has been a very challenging but exciting journey for DK. His approach over the last 8 years has been to spend time experimenting with different artwork styles to portray expressive and imaginative landscapes, which he demonstrates in his body of work today. He describes his paintings as impressionistic and bold, where he holds no boundaries for colour.

He works from his studio in a remote village on the Outer Hebrides where the surroundings are integral to his work. He is always out exploring his local landscape and other locations across Scotland. He wants his work to have a personal effect on people, reminding them of a location they once visited.

The use of colour and light is greatly important in DK’s work, with the artist consistently experimenting with different shades, tones and textures to enhance his paintings.
