Dot Walker is a new artist from Inverness, featured in last years HOS members exhibition.

Dot Walker was born and educated in Glasgow. Her first career was in Accident and Emergency Nursing, and laterally midwifery. She used her nursing skills to travel extensively, most recently spending nearly two years working in a mission hospital in rural Nepal with her husband and three children. She has no formal training in art but has 'sucked the marrow' out of Glasgow Art School's evening and summer school, and completed a portfolio year there before moving to Sidney Australia, where she spent a year at a small art school, mainly learning life painting.

The family moved from Nepal to Inverness 4 years ago and Dot increasingly spends her time painting, inspired by the rugged landscape and dramatic weather of the Highlands. Her first successful solo exhibition was in Tore Gallery in 2007.

Please note sizes are image sizes in cm.  Dot's work is mostly unframed box canvas but some are framed so please ask.
