Angela Hewitt is a a self-taught artist with a firm belief that you can do anything you want to.

Angela became an artist by accident. She gave up her restaurant business, but old customers urged her to write a book of all her original recipes. When the book was published, she was short of funds, so decided to have a go at the illustrations. Painting quickly took over and she is now a full time artist, inspired by food.

Angela loves painting farm animals and is fortunate to live a rural life. In the past she has kept sheep, ducks and geese. Farmyard geese have such quirky movements and make her laugh. Sheep are quite the opposite, with their impression of deep thought that turns out to be so empty-headed. At the same time, she tries to capture the character of the creatures without them looking too cartoony. She loves to use wet-on-wet watercolour technique and brush on  colours with a bold loose expression, and admits she is an impatient person that wants a quick result.
