Ken Ferguson was born and brought up in Edinburgh. He now lives in the borders with his wife Lesley and two children.

After graduating from Edinburgh University in 1982 Ken worked in the NHS for several years. His painting career began in the mid 1980s and in 1990 he let the health service to pursue painting full time.

Ken has been drawn to the west coast and mountains of Scotland and much of his work explores the open space of mountain tops and coastlines.
